There’s a God, now what?

So you/we have decided that there’s a God. Now where do we go? Well chances are you want to pick a religion, but let’s just slow things down a bit. Let’s think about a few things first.

1. Does God Still Exist?

I like to think that God still exists. Although I recognize that it’s possible that God could have set everything up to keep going in his absence, I like to believe that he’s still around. Is this wishful thinking? Not really. I can’t prove it, but I feel that he is. Now, I’m not one to just go off of feeling something, and just expecting everyone to just go with it, but when it comes to this most basic question, it’s difficult to come up with proof. Is there a god?

The first post on religion needs to begin with the most basic question of all. Is there a God. All other questions about religion require there be an answer to this. Now, one thing to understand is that I do not claim to know anything for certain. I hold a set of beliefs, and those beliefs form my religion. Over time, I expect my religion to change as my underlying beliefs change. This will happen as I learn more about religion and other people provide me with ideas that I hadn’t considered before. I don’t expect cataclysmic changes in my beliefs, but I do expect that there will be a gradual change over time. Now, back on topic, I cannot prove to anyone that there is a God and that my decisions are correct. I’m human, and I’m capable of being wrong. All I can explain is my logic, and why I believe what I do, but, I’m not able to tell you that I have no doubts. I think we all have doubts, just some religious people refuse to admit it to others. There’s no way for us to know for certain, without concrete evidence, and to my knowledge, no one has any. In short, I could be wrong. You need to decide for yourself, what you believe in.
